What to bring
When you come for your first visit please remember to obtain and bring the following
- Referral letter from GP, family physician or another doctor
- Medicare card, DVA card, pension card
- Have your Private Hospital Insurance information with you
- Reports, X-rays, MRI's, CT scans etc. and any other relevant information
What to expect
A referral
Your GP or gynaecologist refers you. A referral is what gives you access to the subspecialist and to the Medicare rebate that goes with it.
A first consultation
Your specialist takes a full reproductive history for both partners where relevant, and explains what is already known and what is not.
Investigation
Testing is chosen for your situation rather than run as a standard panel, and the results are interpreted against the whole picture.
A plan you understand
You agree a management plan together, including what it involves, what it is likely to achieve, and what the alternatives are.
