About ANZSREI

The professional body for CREI subspecialists

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (ANZSREI) represents the 47 doctors in both countries who hold CREI subspecialty certification. Reproductive endocrinology and infertility is the area of medicine that deals with hormones and fertility.

Our office bearers

  • Uphold the standard

Membership is limited to specialists who hold CREI subspecialty certification from RANZCOG. ANZSREI represents these specialists across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Publish clinical guidance

Consensus statements are developed by consultation across the membership, reviewed on a defined cycle, and written for the clinicians who refer.

  • Speak for the subspecialty

ANZSREI speaks for CREI specialists to government, to the media and to other medical bodies, including work to broaden the definition of infertility.

  • Support the training pathway

CREI is a three-year fellowship following specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology. Fellows may join ANZSREI as associate members while they train, and become full members once certification is awarded.

The CREI standard

What sets a CREI specialist apart

CREI certification reflects advanced training and assessment in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, beyond specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Advanced subspecialty training

CREI specialists complete a further three-year fellowship focused on understanding and treating reproductive disorders from puberty through to menopause.

At least fifteen years of medical training

By the time they are certified, CREI specialists have devoted at least fifteen years to medical training and patient care, including specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology and the additional CREI fellowship.

A rigorous certification process

Following the fellowship, CREI specialists must pass written and oral examinations and demonstrate their ability to manage complex problems in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. Ongoing recertification requires continued professional learning.

A voice for CREI specialists

ANZSREI publishes consensus statements for clinicians, makes submissions to government on reproductive health policy, and represents CREI specialists in the media, including work to broaden the definition of infertility.
